OVERVIEW

iTech Computers sells phones, laptops, and accessories, and also runs a same-day repair service out of the same storefront. That’s two very different customer intents living on one site: someone browsing for a new laptop is in a completely different headspace than someone who just cracked their screen and needs a repair booked today.

The UI/UX work focused on making both paths feel immediate and obvious, without either one crowding out the other on the homepage.

The Challenge

Repair customers are often stressed and in a hurry, they don’t want to browse a catalogue, they want to book a fix and know what it’ll cost. Shopping customers, on the other hand, want to compare specs and prices without feeling rushed. Cramming both into one generic homepage layout risked frustrating everyone.

Our Approach

We designed two clear entry points right at the top of the homepage: “Book a Repair” and “Buy Products”, each leading down a purpose-built flow instead of a shared, compromised one. The repair flow was kept to the fewest possible steps and linked straight to WhatsApp for instant confirmation, since that’s how most local customers actually prefer to communicate. The shop flow followed familiar e-commerce patterns (category browse, filters, product detail, cart) so it never demanded new habits from anyone.

— What We Designed —

Key Interface Decisions

Simplified Content Editor

A restricted, guided interface for publishing news and events, with no risk of accidentally breaking the page layout.

Clear Field Labels

Plain-language labels instead of technical CMS terminology, tested with a non-technical staff member before launch.

No Manual Required

Designed to be usable confidently after a single walkthrough, not something staff need to be re-trained on.
